Hob Academy Terms and Conditions

1 Fees and enrolment

1.1 A student is accepted for enrolment on and subject to the conditions that the student will attend on the commencement date and at the time specified in the confirmation letter which will be sent to the student on receipt of the completed application and correct fee.

1.2 Registration fees are non-refundable but may be credited against a future course, depending on circumstances.

1.3 The full course fee should be paid to HOB no less than 28 days prior to the commencement date. Fifty percent of such fees will be required on booking and the balance required no less than 28 days before the commencement date. Any increase in fees (which may be introduced without prior notice between the application for enrolment and the commencement date) shall be payable on the commencement date.

1.4 Upon notification of the commencement date no variation in the course date will be permitted without at least 28 days written notice being received by HOB, who reserve the right to change and confirm another date - subject to availability.

1.5 All fees quoted are inclusive of VAT (UK government tax) at the current rate. The school must receive all fees without deduction, therefore any overseas/UK bank charges will automatically be added to the final balance payable. Bespoke Courses require a minimum of 10 students to secure booking. A 50% non refundable deposit is required at date of booking to secure the course dates. Full balance is required 60 days before commencement of the course date.

1.6 In the event of a student failing to attend the confirmed course or complete the course for any reason, no refunds will be made and no entitlement to a later-date course will be gained.

1.7 Fees are not refundable if the course is interrupted or cancelled through an act of God or terrorism.

1.8 Students will not be accepted on the commencement date unless full payment of fees is made. A receipt for registration fees will be sent with letters of confirmation.

2 Hours

2.1 Students are required to attend HOB Academy between 9.30am and 5pm for each day of their course. Course hours can be varied at the discretion of the Director without prior notice.

3 General

3.1 Employer’s guarantee – it is our continued policy in the case of any student who is employed or sponsored by any other salon, not to solicit that student for the purposes of employment in any way, while that student is attending HOB Academy.

3.2 It is required that all students have a basic knowledge of how to cut and colour hair.

3.3 Students are expected to bring their own tools ie scissors, combs, brushes and section clips.

3.4 Students are expected to dress suitably for salon work.

3.5 The educators will make no allowance for lateness or absenteeism without prior consent. The right is also reserved to dismiss any student giving justifiable cause for such action. The educators decision in all such matters is deemed final.

3.6 All courses and fees are subject to change without prior notice.

3.7 The name HOB Academy, HOB Salons or HOB may not be used in any form of advertising, including advertorials.

3.8 The School will provide non-professional models wherever possible but students are advised that in the event of model shortages, alternative programmes may be introduced into the published curriculum without prior notice. Students should be aware that at such times, it might be suggested to practice on one another.

3.9 These conditions shall form the entire basis of the contract between HOB Academy and the student. Only the Director shall be authorised to alter or waive any of the conditions.

3.10 In the event that a student is dissatisfied with the instruction which is provided to them, students will agree to submit in writing any such complaint concerning the instruction during the course that has been selected within 24 hours of the time that such complaint arises. The student hereby agrees that damages are limited exclusively to a refund of the course fee for the course selected, and that they are entitled to no other consequential, incidental or punitive damages.

4 Overseas students

4.1 Students making arrangements for payment of course fees through overseas banks must ensure that either the fees or proof of payment from their bank accompanies their application form. We advise students to mark requests to their banks for foreign exchange as ’Priority’, being of an Academyal nature. Bank drafts should be directed to IBAN GB91 2037 1600 2093 93 and SWIFT BARC GB 22.

4.2 It is vitally important that the remitting bank quotes the full name of the attending student on the details of payment. UK and foreign bank charges must be prepaid in order that HOB Academy receives the amount in full, prior to the course commencement date.

4.3 All courses are in English, therefore if students do not speak English a competent interpreter must be present. This can be arranged for you in advance for an extra fee.
