Festival Hair Trends: Our Top Five
Are you preparing to pitch up a tent this summer? Aside from planning your booze haul and your ready-for-all-weathers wardrobe, check out our Top 5 Festival Hair looks for all the style inspo you need (spoiler: it DOESN’T include dry shampoo)
Glitter Roots
If it doesn’t include a glitter root, is it actually a festival? We LOVE seeing glitter for all hairstyles, whether it's on space buns or middle partings. The new update to the glitter trend this year is that it’s gone green (as in eco, not as in Kermit) - with over 60 festivals pledging to ban plastic glitter by 2021!
TOP TIP:Try glitter braids for a look that'll last you all weekend!
Pastel colours
Fully embracing your more fun, more relaxed festival alter-ego, there's no better time to experiment with colour. Not sure about committing full-time? At HOB we offer loads of semi-permanent solutions - ask a colourist about the new Wella Colour Fresh Create product (available in 12 pastel and vibrant shades), or even the DIY Wella Invigo coloured conditioners, for a fresh look that’ll wash out after a few shampoos.
Space buns
The ultimate ’90s trend is back for a 21st century revamp! This super cute retro style is deffo ticking all our festival hair boxes. This versatile look has also been making an appearance on the red carpet (by Millie Bobby Brown) but is still a firm festival fave. And of course, it looks great with glitter...
All the flower vibes
Flower crowns are still big news, quelle surprise. For a 2018 take, be brave and look for variations on the classic tiny flowers version - look for oversized flowers, feathers, or strategically placed flower hair pins. Make an appointment at HOB for a braided up-do, bring along your floral accessories and let us weave them or place them for you for a pro finish.
Beach waves
Finally, you can never go wrong with a beaut boho inspired beach wave look, which is an absolute staple for summer 2018 and looks to be going nowhere…. As seen here by the queen of boho herself, Vanessa Hudgens. Book for a salon blow-dry and ask for a beachy finish; a professional job will ensure your waves last the whole weekend and your hair will last an extra day or two before washing.
