Job Description

The Head of Technical role is one of leadership, teamwork, creative excellence, platform ability and teaching.
This person will become an integral part of the HOB Creative Team and head up the entire technical creative direction and education for HOB Salons and Academy on all internal training but also externally on an international basis.
We are looking for a positive, passionate person who is highly skilled in their technical ability. This person must be highly experienced in leading a colour department, working on shows, shoots, writing trends and courses and teaching
We are looking for somebody who is composed,confident and pro-active. 
To be able to take ideas and new projects for the technical department and implement these to grow the colour department for the company and salons.

Requirements:
  • Experience working as a Platform Artist both Nationally and Internationally
  • Excited to travel internationally for shows and seminars
  • Working with Creative Team in shoot concepts, casting and creating content for company campaigns and award entries
  • Experience in teaching all levels of Technician, from beginner to advanced
  • Attend communication/evolution/managers meetings to develop the colour department in line with the development of all areas of the business to increase the colour percentage of our salon turnover.
  • Willing to put new ideas forward and implement with the support of fellow team, design, branding, PR and marketing, to grow the salon technical business
  • Responsible for the internal HOB/ Wella Master Colour programme and plan the years structure for our top technicians within our salons.
  • Build relationships with our salon managers, technicians and future technicians in a professional and nurturing way to promote education and growth
  • Attend salon visits with a cutting educator to promote in salon education and improve standards in our salons (covering all salon relevant techniques within these visits)
  • Assist the Apprentice Academy in the development of our apprentices in their colour training 
  • Lead all graduate training days for the post-apprentices to encourage a constant supply of new graduate technicians for our own salons and conduct all final tests
  • Plot future colour trends
  • Write new colour courses and deliver 
  • Lead and develop the junior technical education team
  • Experienced in demonstrating on stage in a look-and learn seminar set up and conduct colour workshops
  • Conduct Bespoke education for all external students and groups to the HOB Academy both national and international
  • Attend Wella MCP, MCE and MCC days as a guest artist representing HOB
  • Be able to inspire and enthuse your audience
