Styling super-brand ghd held auditions for its first-ever art team this month and Jake Unger of HOB Salons Camden was one of the lucky 8 selected.

The attendees were picked from hundreds of hopefuls who applied. Jake had to prep a model before presenting to the panel, which included HJ's British Hairdresser of the Year and ghd Global Brand Ambassador Akin Konizi; Nicola Steinbach, ghd's education manager; HJ's deputy editor Ruth Hunsley; Fellowship legend Ann Herman and ghd directive stylist Will Ackerley.

Using a mood board they talked through colour, cut, styling and the total look they had created - including makeup and clothes - and answered some demanding questions from the judges.

The new ghd art team will spend the next twelve months involved in a number of exciting ghd projects including a nationwide tour, photoshoots, presentations in the UK and overseas and the chance to work backstage at London Fashion Week. The team will also benefit from some expert mentoring from Akin Konizi and the ghd education team
