Taking place all day at the Wella London Studios, a new and exciting Men’s category was added alongside the Colour and Young Talent category, offering the winner a chance to be involved in all upcoming Men’s shoots and shows for the company.

Open to entrants from all 23 branches, the young talent category had an age restriction of 30 whilst the colour and Men’s Categories were open to all employees to showcase their creativity.

Whittled down to just 7 lucky finalists for both Young Talent and Men's, the colour category saw 4 hopefuls compete on the big day. Finalists were required to recreate their initial entry look, which they submitted the month earlier for the first round, whilst interpreting their understanding of the HOB Salons brand. Presenting to the scrutinizing judges, each finalist showcased mood boards and inspiration ideas to panel which included HOB Salons’ Directors Paul Simbler and current British Hairdresser of the Year, Akin Konizi as well as members of the HOB Salons Creative and Education Team and Wella Technician Maria Carrubba.

After a day of styling, colouring and presentations, the evening awards ceremony saw the night compared by Akin, Clive and Paul, followed by current British Hairdresser of the Year Akin Konizi interviewing 2011 Wella Trend Vision Global winner Jake Unger in front of the awaiting audience. Having jetted out to New York in November to secure the coveted award, Jake revealed his top tips for progressing in the competition and then it was time to reveal the lucky winning names!

Crowned in the Colour Category was HOB Leeds' Daniel Couch, whilst in the Men’s category, Loughton's Simon Wilson took centre stage. The third award of the night went to an elated Anneka Rowsell of HOB Baker Street, and speaking following the exciting news, she beamed 'It is a huge honour to have won, especially amongst your peers who are so talented! I am now so excited to start preparing for Trend Vision 2012 and after seeing Jake's success, I feel so motivated and inspired. The support from HOB Salons is incredible, giving us opportunities like this and pushing us to be the best we can!'

The winners will now go on to prepare for the prestigious competition as they go on to represent HOB Salons at Wella’s Trend Vision 2012.
